    Minsheng Shipping

Minsheng Industrial (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Minsheng Group") is a large-scale, modern, comprehensive logistics enterprise group in China. It is a key state-owned enterprise under the Chongqing municipal government, a national 5A-rated comprehensive logistics enterprise, and ranked among Chongqing's top 100 enterprises.

The predecessor of Minsheng Group was the Minsheng Industrial Company, founded in 1925 in Hechuan, Chongqing, by the renowned Chinese patriotic industrialist, educator, and social reformer Lu Zuofu. Guided by the mission of "serving society, benefiting the public, developing industry, and strengthening the nation," Lu Zuofu led the company and its fleet—upholding the "Minsheng Spirit" centered on patriotism—to successfully reclaim inland navigation rights on the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River amidst fierce competition from Western shipping companies. By 1949, the company employed over 9,000 people and operated a fleet of 148 river and ocean-going vessels. It had established branches across Yangtze River and coastal ports, as well as in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Southeast Asia, the United States, and Canada. With investments in over 90 industrial projects, it had become the largest and most influential private enterprise group in China at the time.

Following the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Lu Zuofu took the lead in deploying the Minsheng fleet from Shanghai to support the war effort. In 1938, he personally directed the famous "Yichang Evacuation," making a significant contribution to the ultimate victory in the war.

Minsheng Company was re-established in Chongqing in 1984. Today, Minsheng Group owns a renowned trademark with a century-long history and oversees 26 wholly-owned or holding subsidiaries, 17 branches at various levels, and 10 associate companies.

Leveraging its position as a hub for inland opening-up, Minsheng Group actively integrates into initiatives such as the "Belt and Road," the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, while deeply participating in the operations of the China-Europe Railway Express and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. Leveraging the largest proprietary fleets of container vessels and Ro-Ro car carriers in the Yangtze River basin—along with shipping fleets serving Taiwan, Japan, and Southeast Asia—and capitalizing on comprehensive resource advantages (such as the Southwest region's largest heavy-duty truck fleet and warehousing/logistics bases at the Chongqing and Chengdu ports) and superior service integration capabilities, the company provides domestic and international clients with a global service portfolio. This includes international and domestic container multimodal transport, end-to-end automotive supply chain logistics, and integrated modern logistics services—such as rail and air logistics, warehousing and distribution, international freight forwarding and shipping agency services, project logistics, and supply chain finance.
